Note about Lakeshore Drive: The Protective Life Building is located in an office park at the intersection of Highway 280 and Lakeshore Drive. The naming of Lakeshore Drive may vary with some maps and exit signs. You may see the name Highway 149, ShadesCreek Parkway, Lakeshore Drive, or if you go slighly east of the intersection of Highway 280 the name changes to Mountain Brook Highway. The most common name is Lakeshore Drive. Park in the upper visitor's lot. The directions to the meeting room are here

Directions from Birmingham International Airport:

  1. After leaving the airport, drive 1.2 miles and get on Interstate 20/59 West/South (Tuscaloosa/Downtown).
  2. Go 3 miles to Exit 126A (31/280 Carraway Blvd).
  3. Stay in the left lane of the exit ramp and continue on 31 South/280 East for 3.2 miles to the Sylacauga/Mountain Brook exit.
  4. Stay in the left lane of the exit ramp.
  5. On 280, take the Highway 149 (Lakeshore Dr)/Mountain Brook/Homewood exit.
  6. Turn right onto Highway 149 (Lakeshore Dr).
  7. Turn left at the first light, in front of the Shades Creek Park building.
  8. Continue straight to the second stop sign and turn left to go to the parking area.

Directions from West of Birmingham (including Tuscaloosa)

  1. Take I-20 East to the I-459N exit (Atlanta/Gadsden).
  2. Follow I-459N approximately 20 miles to exit 19 (Mountain Brook/Childersburg/280 West).
  3. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Highway 280 West.
  4. On 280, take the Highway 149 (Lakeshore Dr)/Mountain Brook/Homewood exit.
  5. Turn right onto Highway 149 (Lakeshore Dr).
  6. Turn left at the first light, in front of the Shades Creek Park building.
  7. Continue straight to the second stop sign and turn left to go to the parking area.

Directions from South of Birmingham (including Montgomery)

  1. Take I-65 North to Exit 250 (I-459N/Atlanta/Gadsden/280).
  2. Go 4.4 miles and take Exit 19 (Mountain Brook/Childersburg/280 West).
  3. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Hwy 280W.
  4. Take the Highway 149 (Lakeshore Dr)/Mountain Brook/Homewood exit.
  5. Continue straight through the intersection in front of the Shades Creek Park building.
  6. Continue straight to the second stop sign and turn left to go to the parking area.

Directions from North of Birmingham (including Huntsville/Nashville)

  1. Take I-65 South to Exit 261 (20 East/59 North/Gadsden/Atlanta).
  2. Go 1.1 miles and take Exit 126A (Carraway Blvd).
  3. Stay in the left lane and follow 31 South/280 East.
  4. Continue on 31 South/280 East for 3.2 miles.
  5. Exit at the East/Sylacauga/Mountain Brook exit.
  6. Stay in the left lane of the exit ramp.
  7. On 280, take the Highway 149 (Lakeshore Dr)/Mountain Brook/Homewood exit.
  8. Turn right onto Highway 149 (Lakeshore Dr).
  9. Turn left at the first light in front of the Shades Creek Park building.
  10. Continue straight to the second stop sign and turn left to go to the parking area.

Directions from Atlanta

  1. Take I-20 West out of Atlanta to Birmingham.
  2. Exit onto I-459 South (Montgomery).
  3. Take Exit 19 onto Highway 280 West (Mountain Brook/Childersburg/280 West).
  4. Take the Highway 149 (Lakeshore Dr)/Mountain Brook/Homewood exit.
  5. Continue straight through the intersection in front of the Shades Creek Park building.
